Last week, I had the opportunity to attend my colleague and friend, Pioneer Winter’s, brilliant presentation of HOST – physical theatre performance. For me to attempt to describe in words would not do justice to such an intelligent work that truly takes you through an experience, a journey of emotions. Here is Pioneer’s description:
“HOST is an all-male physical theatre work that explores power, authority, control, isolation, and desire. Within these paths, the word ‘host’ emerges as both sexualized territory as well as a bodily struggle. ‘Host’ is layered in the queer community, where one word is weighted by both history and its digital presence – host of a dinner party, host of a game show, host to an orgy, host to a virus…

Here are some of the photos captured that night with my dear friend and fellow choreographer/dancer, Ana Bolt, along side HOST creators and performer.

This year, I had the opportunity to attend the Shuzz Fund 2015 V Annual SHUZZ | ART | FASHION Show which benefits the nonprofit organization, who’s mission is to provide new shoes to poverty-stricken children throughout the United States and in developing countries. 100% of public donations to SHUZZ supports their ongoing programs: Back-2-School, Youth Athletics, International Relief, Disaster Relief and Medical Clubfoot Procedures.

What an awesome night it was replete with a fashion show featuring the Haute Hippie Spring 2015 Collection and a very special performance by Neil Goldberg’s Cirque Dreams , whom I’ve had the pleasure of working with several years ago 🙂
Meanwhile, I was able to sample tasty bites by NYY Steak and other featured restaurants.
The venue was a fabulous result of the collaboration of sponsors Neiman Marcus, Seminole Coconut Creek Casino, Celebrity Cruises, and the City of Boca Raton. You can follow SHUZZ FUND on Twitter and Instagram @Shuzzorg and on Facebook here.
